Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009)

DCOM #4 to be reviewed on Kidviews, here is Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. I really had high hopes for this movie. REALLY high hopes, as I am a fan of the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. First of all, let me say that the movie was okay, not as good as I expected it to be. Second, this movie has better special effects than all of the episodes combined. The effects in this movie are just stunning. Number three is that the story really takes a downfall on this one. I've seen some very clever writing and stories on the show, and even though this movie is packed with action, I felt like there was something missing. Also, TOO MUCH DRAMA! I really don't like drama movies that much, but I'll bear with them enough to give them an honest review. But this movie was just full of pathetic scenes of Selena Gomez crying. However, when it hits Disney channel, it's worth a peek. If you have some free time, check it out!

Push (2009)

I wanted this movie for about as soon as I heard of it. As obvious, the movie was not as good as my expectations thought it would be. It was a little bit worse than that. It just...wasn't what it could've been. And that made me sad. The effects, however, are just downright awesome, but the plot is a bit confusing. And by a bit, I mean I understood close to half of the movie. But then, I'm eleven. What do I know? Exactly. The movie disappointed me. But it had the ultimate setup for a sequel. Let's see how that goes...

Bedtime Stories (2008)

This movie is a very good kids movie, and a good movie for the whole family to enjoy. It is funny, and gives a good message. Adam Sandler does a good job, along with his co-star the one, the only, the Monica, Courtney Cox. The two kids are amazing, and are the most adorable little kids ever seen in a movie. And then there's Bugsy. A normal-sized hamster with stereo-sized eyeballs. The movie is funny, imaginative, and a great movie for the family to enjoy.

The Even Stevens Movie (2003)

The third DCOM movie to be reviewed on KidViews is presented, here is, in all of its glory and goofiness, here is The Even Stevens Movie. I've only seen a few episodes of the show, but I love the episodes that I did see and I love this movie. This movie is about the Stevens family, (obvious) that go on a vacation to a 'far away' island (which is really only like twenty-five miles away) and end up in disasterous situations, while they are, unknowingly, being filmed and put on a reality TV show. This hysterical movie provides laughs, unexpected twists and turns, and is one of the best DCOMs that Disney has ever made. I recommend to catch it when it comes on.

Coraline (2008)

This movie is definitely the scariest movie (or creepiest) that ever that ever hit the kid's and family genre. Based on the book by Neil Gaiman, the first stop-motion movie ever to be originally filmed in 3-D, KidViews presents the nightmarish phenomenon that is Coraline. The story is great, and the visual effects are magnificent. This movie is a pure phenomenon, but it is a movie to rent. However, one for everyone to rent. Rent it now! Go get it! It's good!

Shorts (2009)

I had really low hopes for this movie. I was dead wrong. This movie, with its unnatural title, all makes sense once you start the film...at least a little bit. This mildly confusing but hysterically funny kid's movie about a rock that grants wishes is one of my better catches. It is delightfully unique, as I'm pretty sure this is the only kid's movie that is in this style. All of the other ones are adult movies that get amazing reviews...from adults. So that shows you, this style of movies is rare and amazing. And I won't tell you what the style is because you have to see for yourself. So head down to the movies with a big bucket of popcorn and watch Shorts.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

As the final movie of my Alien marathon of reviews, I would like to say this: only watch this with a fast-foward button. There's an intermission AND an overture. So after skipping through that, let's get on with the movie. The first thirty minutes: GARBAGE! It's just wasted time. Ape costumes and no dialouge. That part stunk. Then, it started making sense, and smiles on my face. This epic battle between man and machine takes place here, in the true birth of science fiction. Thanks to the last twenty minutes of this movie, I can call this an alien movie. That was random. If you have two and a half hours, this is a great movie to catch. Watch Stanley Kubrick's true science fiction masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey
